3. Give examples for each of the four scales of measurement. Try to think of scales not mentioned in class or in your book.

Answer
Examples will vary. However, the four scales which should be mentioned are nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio scales of measurement. Some examples include: nominal (football jerseys); ordinal (placement in a race); interval (IQ scores), ratio (Kelvin temperature scale).

4. Define Reliability and Validity. Give examples of measures that have these characteristics.

Answer
Reliability: The consistency of a measurement scale. Validity: The degree to which a measurement scale actually measures what it claims to measure. Examples will vary.
